MagniSpore exists to foster a respectful, educational community of mushroom cultivators focused on legal gourmet and medicinal mushroom cultivation. We're here to share knowledge, celebrate successes, troubleshoot challenges, and grow together as cultivators.
Core Principles
We ARE a community for:
- Gourmet mushroom cultivation (Oyster, Shiitake, Lion's Mane, etc.)
- Medicinal mushroom cultivation (Reishi, Turkey Tail, Cordyceps, etc.)
- Legal cultivation techniques and methods
- Troubleshooting grows and sharing experiences
- Educational discussions about mycology
- Celebrating harvests and successes
- Supporting fellow cultivators
We are NOT a community for:
- Wild mushroom identification— This requires expert knowledge and can be dangerous. Use specialized ID forums like r/mycology or consult local mycological societies.
- Discussion of psilocybin mushroom cultivation— Educational content is available in the strain database with proper disclaimers, but cultivation discussion is prohibited.
- Foraging advice or wild mushroom consumption guidance
- Medical advice or health claims — We're cultivators, not doctors.
- Commercial advertising or spam — Share your passion, not your products.
Behavioral Guidelines
Respect and Kindness
DO:
- Treat all community members with respect and courtesy
- Welcome newcomers and beginners with patience
- Offer constructive feedback when troubleshooting
- Celebrate others' successes
- Acknowledge that everyone is at a different skill level
DON'T:
- Harass, bully, or intimidate other members
- Make personal attacks or insults
- Mock or belittle questions, no matter how basic
- Use derogatory or offensive language
- Engage in trolling or intentionally disruptive behavior
Zero Tolerance Policies
The following behaviors will result in immediate account suspension with no warnings:
- Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or any form of discrimination
- Threats of violence or harm
- Doxxing or sharing private information without consent
- Sexual harassment or unwanted sexual advances
- Spam or commercial solicitation
- Impersonation of other users or moderators

- Substrate recipes and experiments
- Environmental control strategies

Politics and Religion:
- Keep discussions focused on cultivation
- Political/religious debates are off-topic
- Occasional mentions are fine if directly relevant (e.g., legality discussions)
- Moderators will redirect off-topic threads
Wild Mushroom Identification:
- We do not provide wild mushroom identification services
- Consumption of wild mushrooms requires expert knowledge
- Misidentification can be fatal

- Admit when you don't know something

- Don't exaggerate or fabricate results
Be Helpful:

Help Requests and Troubleshooting
When asking for help, please include:
- Strain being grown
- Current cultivation stage
- Clear photos of the issue
- Environmental conditions (temperature, humidity)
- Substrate composition
- Timeline (days since inoculation/fruiting)
- What you've tried so far
This helps the community provide accurate, helpful advice.
Moderation and Enforcement
Warning System
First Offense (Minor Violations):
- Friendly warning via DM or comment
- Explanation of guideline violation
- Opportunity to edit or remove content
Second Offense:
- Formal warning
- Content removed
- 3-day temporary suspension for severe cases
Third Offense:
- 7-30 day suspension
- Review of account history
- Potential permanent ban
Immediate Ban (Major Violations):
- Hate speech or discrimination
- Threats or doxxing
- Spam or commercial solicitation
- Psilocybin cultivation discussion
- Wild mushroom consumption advice
- Repeated guideline violations
Appeals Process
If you believe you were banned in error:

- Include: Username, date of ban, explanation
- We'll review within 3-5 business days
- Decision is final after review
Privacy and Safety
Personal Information
Protect Yourself:
- Don't share your full name, address, or phone number
- Don't share location details beyond general region
- Be cautious about sharing photos that reveal identifying information
- Don't share financial information or payment details
Protect Others:
- Don't share others' personal information
- Don't screenshot private messages without consent
- Report any doxxing attempts immediately
Suspicious Activity
Report immediately if you encounter:
- Requests for personal information
- Suspicious links or phishing attempts
- Scams or fraud
- Threats or harassment
- Illegal activity discussions
- Inappropriate contact with minors
Commercial Activity
Allowed:
- Sharing where you bought supplies (with personal experience)
- Discussing equipment brands you've used
- Answering questions about vendors
- Mentioning sponsors of your content (clearly disclosed)
Prohibited:
- Direct sales or advertising
- Affiliate links without disclosure
- Repeated promotion of businesses
- Vendor impersonation
- Pyramid schemes or MLM
- Unsolicited direct messages promoting products

By using MagniSpore's community features, you agree to:

MagniSpore will:

- Provide additional details
- Submit (reports are anonymous)
Email Reporting:
Emergency Situations:
- Immediate threats: Contact local law enforcement first
- Then report to us for platform action
What Happens Next
- Review: Moderators review within 24 hours
- Action: Content removed or warning issued
- Follow-up: Reporter notified of outcome (without details)
- Appeal: User may appeal (see Appeals Process)
False Reports
Intentionally false reports are a violation of these guidelines and may result in account suspension.
Content Ownership and Licensing

- You retain ownership of content you post
- You grant MagniSpore a license to display and distribute your content
- You can delete your content at any time
- MagniSpore may retain backups for legal/safety reasons

- Don't copy others' content without permission
- Give credit when sharing techniques or information

Age Requirements
- Must be 18+ to use community features
- We don't knowingly collect data from minors
- Report suspected underage users
